L2 2021/22 End of Season Report

Ladies 2 P22 W14 D4 L4 GF66 GA23 GD+43 PTS 46 POS 2nd
PROMOTED!
Our success this season has been a collective effort. Week in week out the togetherness, drive, and want to win has shown. Within that there have been too some fantastic individual performances. Every player however that has stepped onto the pitch to play 2s has made an impact and that’s what has enabled us to achieve the results we have.

There are too many highlights to list but we scored some quality goals, made fabulous game winning saves and showed fantastic displays of teamwork and simple hockey. Most standout though was the final match of the season, the decider on league positioning. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute, but with determination literal blood and sweat and a 4-1 win we secured 2nd in the League!!

A fitting victory to sign off the season which has been fun and enjoyable for all…. all 37 different players who lined up throughout the season for the Ladies 2s! Thanks girls!

Roll on June 1st when we hope we can officially get the nod of Promotion to play South East Women’s Division 1 East next season.

Ellis and Emma

Most improved player: Aoife Boyd
After making the jump into the ladies 2s after the Christmas break this person has made a positive impact for the team. Although quiet as a mouse off the pitch her efforts on haven’t gone unnoticed. We have seen strides of development in her game both within her individual skills and working with the team. Especially when breaking into D she is a quick thinker and match after match has won us the advantage.

Player of the season: Amanda Ellis
2s player of the season with an absolute landslide win is Ellis. This is so deserved…she absolutely dominates at centre back and has really stepped up to captain the team this season. Her hard work off the pitch and even harder work on the pitch has undoubtedly led to the 2s securing their 3rd promotion in 4 seasons. Everyone on the team absolutely loves Ellis and we are so happy she is getting this award
