From the whistle Ashford 2s started well and composed. We kept our heads and made some good and effective tackles. Our accuracy of passing made things a little difficult but we were able to get the ball up to our attacking D. A foot from their defender lead to our first short corner. A strong ball from the top went to Jo Thompson on the post and she swept it in.
Half time came and went and it took us a while to get back into the game. A breakaway from the opposition meant they were able to equalise. This was the kick up the butt that we needed - some fantastic runs up the middle lead to another attacking short corner. It was goal #2 for Jo Thompson on the post.
With 15 minutes to go, Ashford defended well and made some more opportunities to extend our 2-1 lead, however were unable to finish them. With the final whistle, we were relieved to have held Brom Becks off and a solid 3 points were won.
MOM was Ellie Jones for her end to end slalom runs!
