A tough and well fought game between Ashford Ladies 2s and Sevenoaks Acorns.
Competitive from the first whistle.
The two teams were equal in strength particularly throughout the first half. However, even after several entries into the Acorns D, Ashford had no luck in securing a goal. Emma Baines and Aoife Boyd each produced effortless shots but were expertly defended by the Acorns experienced centre back.
The match continued on and a few moments from half time Acorns scored what Ashford thought was “a lucky goal”.

Despite wise words from our coach; Ashford were still unable to score in the second half…
Although our defenders were relentless and for a matter of fact absolutely fearless; Acorns managed to produce a further 3 goals.
Despite the score increasing throughout the game Ashford remained strong, calm and played “our game” at pace and even performed several well conducted short corners. Like we all agreed at the end of what felt like a long game…”it just wasn’t our day!”
