After a loss away at New Becc's last week, Ashford Ladies 4's were determined to secure 3 points from this week's match against Maidstone 3's. Ashford put pressure on Maidstone from the start, with some great midfield play from Moly and Caroline creating chances in the D. Strong play from both teams meant the score remained at 0-0 at half time.
After a rousing team talk from coach Adam Fox, Ashford came out fighting, determined to break the 0-0 score line. A quick break by Mollie in midfield, to the top of the D, leading to a reverse strike that baffled the defence and trickled into the goal.
A quickly taken free hit by Kirstie found Caroline, driving right into the D, made a strong pass to Jodie who expertly slotted the ball home to bring the score line to 2-0.
Not content with 2 goals, Ashford continued to create chances and their 3rd and final goal of the match came from a well timed pass into the D by Caroline to find Connie, who skilfully wrong footed the intercepting Maidstone defender to score.
Strong defence play from Luciana, Orissa, Michelle and Kirstie and some fantastic saves by Ashford's keeper Tamsin, kept the Maidstone attack at bay. Final score 3-0 to Ashford ladies 4's and a well deserved 3 points.
