Ashford welcomed Sevenoaks to ball lane for the second time in as many weeks but were keen not to repeat the scoreline for the week before. Jude Smythe, Jago Mayers, Ben Shepherd and Lewis Mcleod all returned fresh legged from a weeks holiday and were keen to show that they could make the difference this week. After a frantic start from both sides Sevenoaks took the lead with a well finished goal from a short corner. After this Ashford maintained much of the possession with George Sim, Seb Fryer and Jago transferring the ball well at the back.
Chance after chance passed ashford by until ben davis opened the scoring from a short corner. A half time score of 1-1 was probably fair but Ashford were keen to come out fighting in the second half.
A quick start and a high line put the pressure on Sevenoaks and the game shifted to Ashford being the dominant team and goals were sure to follow. Unfortunately the first goal to come was from Sevenoaks. This only spurred Ashford on more, Alex Deacon making some fantastic runs down the left hand side, so keen to get up the pitch he forgot to stop on one occasion and dribbled off the end of the pitch after a 90 yard sprint with the ball. Ben Davis dominated the centre of the midfield throughout the game and with the help of Lewis “Rainbow” Mcleod helped Ashford build the pressure on the opposition. As the game came in the last 15 minutes Ashford found another gear and pilled on the pressure, the goal came after a well timed pass from Jude found Adam Fox who in turn found Lewis waiting for a tap in on the back post. Shortly after Ben Davis rocketed the ball into the bottom left from a short corner. Even though the game was 3-2 to Ashford they were looking for more and found 1 final goal from a short corner on the final whistle. A great save from a Ben Davis drag flick gave Jude the opportunity to smash home a reverse stick volley to seal the victory.
